Alternator Protection Module Apm48 - 48V

If an alternator output is disconnected when the engine is running there is nowhere for the power to go and the voltage will rise until something fails. The Balmar APM-48  can be used protect alternators from the damaging effects of battery switch disconnects, or Lithium battery disconnects. It can protect from both short and longer duration voltage surges. It operates by creating a short circuit and taking the alternator output to ground. It is a small device and it has its limits, so it is self testing, see the additional information tab for more details.
